Nick has been in the Detroit area wine business for over 15 years originally working at his family's Italian restaurant back in the 90's. He was able to travel trough Europe extensively with long stays in Italy where he discovered his passion for wine. Under the tutelage of his father Chef Nick Apone Sr. C.E.C., Nick Jr. also learned to cook Italian and French cuisine. However, wine was always front and center for Nick, he knew that one day he would want to work solely with wine. It was in 2005 when Nick decided to go full time in the wine business, being mentored and guided by fellow Sommeliers Antoine Przekop, and Marc Jonna. Nick continued his path in the retail wine business where he has honed his knowledge and passion to find the very best wines in every category.
Nick & Gina married in 2007. Together they will run the day to day operations at O.W.C. Gina has been in the Restaurant business her entire career where she mastered the art of service. She has a great love for food & wine. Gina is in charge of special event operations and is the organizer of the O.W.C. Women's club.
